Pianiste, chanteuse et compositrice originaire de La Réunion, Valérie Chane Tef débute le piano classique à 7 ans avant de se former au CNR de Bordeaux puis en musicologie. Très tôt, elle se tourne vers le jazz et les musiques créoles, devenant l’une des voix les plus singulières de ce courant en pleine expansion.
Artiste passionnée, elle consacre son énergie à la scène, à la création et au développement de projets originaux. Elle a collaboré avec de grandes figures comme Mino Cinélu, Thierry Fanfant, Dédé Saint-Prix, Omar Lye Fook, Géraldine Laurent, Joby Valente, Sura Susso ou Bernard Marka.
Son projet phare, AKODA, incarne pleinement son identité artistique. Ce trio de jazz créole propose une musique lumineuse où dialoguent mélodies envoûtantes, rythmes de l’océan Indien et influences contemporaines. Le jeu expressif de Valérie Chane Tef, mêlé à sa créativité et à sa sensibilité, a propulsé AKODA sur des scènes internationales et pour le PAPJAZZ, elle est accompagnée par Inor Sotolongo aux percussions et Teddy Sorres à la basse.

Valérie Chane Tef & AKODA
Pianist, singer, and composer from Réunion Island, Valérie Chane Tef began classical piano at age seven before studying at the Conservatoire of Bordeaux and completing a degree in musicology. She soon turned toward jazz and Creole traditions, becoming one of the most distinctive voices of this rapidly expanding musical movement.
A passionate and prolific artist, she devotes her energy to performing, composing, and developing original projects. Over the years, she has collaborated with major figures such as Mino Cinélu, Thierry Fanfant, Dédé Saint-Prix, Omar Lye Fook, Géraldine Laurent, Joby Valente, Sura Susso, and Bernard Marka.
Her flagship project, AKODA, embodies her artistic identity. This Creole jazz trio offers luminous music where hypnotic melodies, rhythms of the Indian Ocean, and contemporary influences intersect. Valérie Chane Tef’s expressive playing, creativity, and sensitivity have carried AKODA onto international stages and for PAPJAZZ, she is accompanied by Inor Sotolongo on percussion and Teddy Sorres on bass.
