Daniel Torres est un guitariste, compositeur et producer mexicain dont l’univers musical tisse les traditions d’Amérique latine avec des influences contemporaines venues du monde entier. Fondateur du projet DANTOR, il développe une esthétique personnelle empreinte de sensibilité, d’exploration sonore et d’identité culturelle. Auteur des albums Sinestesia, Olas Altas et Ramé, il s’est produit en Argentine, au Brésil, au Canada, aux États-Unis, en Europe, au Maroc et au Mexique. Diplômé de l’Escuela Superior de Música et formé en troisième cycle à Buenos Aires, il enseigne aujourd’hui à l’UNAM et à l’Université Panaméricaine.

Daniel Torres is a Mexican guitarist, composer, and producer whose musical universe weaves together Latin American traditions with contemporary influences from around the world. Founder of the DANTOR project, he has developed a personal aesthetic marked by sensitivity, sonic exploration, and cultural identity. The author of the albums Sinestesia, Olas Altas, and Ramé, he has performed in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the United States, Europe, Morocco, and Mexico. A graduate of the Escuela Superior de Música with postgraduate studies in Buenos Aires, he currently teaches at UNAM and the Universidad Panamericana.
Daniel will present his project accompanied by local Haitian musicians and will also lead a masterclass. PAPJAZZ is delighted to welcome him for the festival’s opening night!
